Animal Welfare Program


The Animal Welfare Program is committed to ensuring the health and welfare of the animals used in research and teaching at this institution and is committed to the advancement of science.

The Animal Welfare Program is one of the components of the UCSD Animal Care and Use Program.

Responsibilities of the Animal Welfare Program:
  • IACUC Administration
  • Animal Welfare Inspections and Compliance
  • Regulatory reporting
  • Training
  • Outreach and Communications
When to contact the Animal Welfare Program Office:
  • you need help writing a protocol
  • you need help with the online protocol system
  • you must report an animal concern
  • you need to ask a question about the UCSD Animal Care and Use Program
  • you've gotten a call from the public or the media about animal use at UCSD
